Nonetheless, it looks like Facebook and Instagram will be moving forward and will employ the same strategy as Snapchat. According to a report by Gigaom, sources from within Instagram has mentioned that the next version of the app will feature a private instant messaging feature that will allow users to communicate with other Instagram users beyond the current commenting system in place. The feature will reportedly be rolled out before the end of the year and might also sport a group messaging functionality.

As with other rumours, we recommend taking this story with a grain of salt. But nonetheless, it’s quite intriguing how such feature will be accepted by Instagram fans. What do you think?
