It looks like Samsung and HTC is having a spinoff war with their flagship devices. Aside from the Prime models we’ve been hearing lately, HTC is also coming up with a plastic version of its current flagship phone with the One M8 Ace.
Today, images of the said device made the rounds on Chinese tech blogs which shows off its curvy design. The smartphone is actually a reworked HTC One M8 sporting the same Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 5-inch Full HD display. But unlike the One M8, the ace will shed its metal body for a polycarbonate one.
Moreover, the secondary camera at the back of the One M8 which it uses to gather depth information to create effects on photos will be replaced by a flash and the primary camera will be an 8MP or 13MP camera instead of the 4MP UltraPixel snapper on the One M8.
There’s no word yet on when the phone will be available but when it does, it will hit first China with a price tag of around US$480.
