Huawei has just updated one of its top level smartphone models with a more powerful processor and bigger storage.

The Ascend P6 S is built around the same 4.7-inch 720p LCD as the normal Ascend P6 and comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and an 8MP+5MP camera combo. The phone still runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the company’s Emotion UI on top and there’s still no support for LTE connectivity.

What’s new though is the processor, which is now bumped to a 1.6GHz quad-core processor (from 1.5GHz from the Ascend P6). The handset is currently available on Huawei’s webstore (Vmall) and is currently only available in China via China Unicom.

Pricing for the Ascend P6 S starts at around AU$508 but customers who will order the device today will get a AU$56 discount from the company’s online store.
