Aside from showcasing the VoiceTabs Slates, HP has also announced a new Windows-powered business tablet at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Designed for small businesses, the HP ProPad 600 has a 10.1-inch display and offers small enterprises a cheaper alternative to the company’s ElitePad 900 tablet. To be able to trim down the price tag, HP has moved to using plastic instead of metal or other more expensive materials.

The tablet has a 64-bit Baytrail chip, an 8MP camera at the back (2MP camera at the front), a micro-HDMI out, a microSD card slot, standard micro-USB port for charging and an optically bonded 1920 x 1200-pixel display that supports pen input.

There’s no word on pricing but HP said that the ProPad 600 should be available sometime in April.
