We’ve already featured a number of Hisense products in the past, but most of them are TVs. This time around Hisense has dipped its hands into the smartphone market with the Hisense X1.

The phablet is massive with a 6.8-inch display and comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, a 13MP camera at the back and a 3900mAh battery. The screen has 1080p resolution and provides wide viewing angles.

In terms of design and build quality, the X1 looks a lot like the BlackBerry Z10 or even an HTC One but is made from not-so-posh plastic. There’s also no LTE connectivity but it will run on the latest version of Android – at least that’s what representatives from Hisense claim.

The Hisense X1 will be available initially in China but there’s no specific information yet with regards to pricing and international availability. But in case it’s scheduled to reach Australian shores, we’ll definitely let you know.
