The market for smartbands and smartwatches are becoming incredibly competitive as both large companies and startups are trying to get a piece of the pie. The latest addition to this group is Chinese startup firm Gyenno with its One Wristband.

The company has just completed its crowdfunded campaign in Pozible and is now fully funded to start the production of the One. And just like other Chinese manufacturers, Gyenno will provide consumers with a cheaper alternative to wearables offered by more popular companies without compromising on quality and functionality.

The smartband features a minimalist design with a buttonless face covered in Corning’s Gorilla Glass III for a polished finish. The device can be charged wirelessly using the included dock that features fast charging technology capable of fully charging the One in under 1.5 hours. Gyenno claims the Lithium-ion polymer battery on the device should last for more than 15 days on a full charge.

The band’s specific focus is on monitoring and improving the user’s health and as such sports several health and fitness-related features. These include an activity tracker and a sleep monitor. The Gyenno One is designed to be compatible with devices running on Android 4.3 or above and iOS7 or above.

Gyenno is offering the One Wristband for around US$169 or approximately AU$182, which is half the price of the Samsung Gear 2 and $65 cheaper than the Pebble Smartwatch.
