Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone may borrow a play out of Apple’s playbook yet again. According to recent reports, the Galaxy S5 may be offered in two versions – one having a plastic body and the other sporting a more premium metallic body (sounds like iPhone 5C and 5S right?).

The metal version will reportedly cost €150 (approximately AU$227) more than the traditional plastic version. Moreover, rumours have it that Samsung will also equip the metal version with its Exynos 6 True octa-core chip with support for ARMv8 64-bit standard, while the plastic version will be given a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip instead.

The smartphone is expected to have a 5.25-inch display with QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels) of the AMOLED variety. A 16MP camera with OIS is also expected to be included in the S5’s spec sheet.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to be announced at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February along with other handsets from the Korean manufacturer including the Galaxy Note III Neo.
