Samsung’s current flagship smartphone and phablet are already on its way to getting the latest build of Android into their systems. And now it’s time for the company’s older models to have a break and grab a KitKat.

According to a Samsung engineer interviewed by Android Geeks, the KitKat update for the Galaxy S3 and the Note II should happen before the end of Q1 2014 and will bring about a few minor cosmetic upgrades to the said devices. These upgrades include a transparent status bar, a new print feature in the settings menu, and a full-screen mode as well as a few minor performance tweaks.

As with other updates, Samsung will roll out the Android 4.4 update in phases, so expect some delays especially if you own a carrier branded Note II or S3.
