Last week we saw Facebook revamp its news feeds by pushing for higher quality content and adding a related articles section whenever a user likes a certain post. Today, we’ve seen reports hinting that Facebook might be adding another feature to help improve the overall user experience on the site.

According to reports, Facebook might be considering the addition of a “symphatise” button so that users can still interact with members of their network, especially when the Like button is not appropriate for a specific situation.

The feature would work based on the type of tags the user will put on his status. For example, if a user tags his post with a negative emoticon, the like button on the post will automatically change to a symphatise button. At present, there’s no clear indication if the social network would implement this in the near future, but if the team that’s currently testing the feature gets a positive feedback, it’s very likely that we’ll be seeing this feature in the future.
