Christian Bale will play Steve Jobs in a biopic penned by Aaron Sorkin

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin yesterday confirmed that Christian Bale will play the role of Steve Jobs In an upcoming biopic directed by Danny Boyle.

“We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale,” Sorkin told Bloomberg Television. “He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.”

The biopic is an adaption of Walter Isaacson's 2011 biography of Jobs, and will begin shooting in the next couple of months.

Sorkin, the film's writer, is best known for TV shows such as The West Wing and The Newsroom, and the Academy Award winning The Social Network. Boyle directed the Oscar-winningSlumgdog Millionaire.
