Many would say that BlackBerry is already falling apart, but the Canadian smartphone maker isn’t about to give up yet and instead releases an update to its OS 10 devices.

The update brings in a number of new enhancements to the platform to help BlackBerry users get full advantage out of their smartphones. For starters, BlackBerry Hub has been optimised to easily filter messages through a custom pinch gesture making it easy to sort out unread messages, flagged messages, draft messages and meeting invites from each other.

The platform’s lockscreen has also been revamped, which now features actionable lock screen notifications and picture password for quick unlocking. The settings menu can now also be customised using special toggles including those that control the phone’s brightness, network connections and built-in flashlight to name a few.

Moreover, BB OS 10.2.1 provides an offline browser reader mode, the ability to choose they sync source for contacts, device and battery monitor, automatic software updates, Enterprise features and an FM radio. Users can also now send SMS and email in groups for more efficient communication.

BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 is now rolling out to BB 10 smartphone users in the United States, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Africa and some parts of Asia. Just do note that the update is still subject to carrier approvals so the updates arrival to end consumers may vary per region and per user.
