BioShock announced for iOS

Game publisher 2K today announced that critically acclaimed first person shooter BioShock will be released for iPhone and iPad later this year. The art deco adventure is a complete port of the original game first released in 2007 for PC and Xbox 360.

Game publisher 2K today announced that critically acclaimed first person shooter BioShock will be released for iPhone and iPad later this year. The art deco adventure is a complete port of the original game first released in 2007 for PC and Xbox 360. Gamers will be able play BioShock with either touch-optimised controls or an iOS compatible gamepad.

While 2K did not provide a pricing specifics, the company noted that it will be a "premium priced mobile game". XCOM: Enemy Unknown, one of 2K's previous iOS offerings, was launched at USD$20. A 2K representative confirmed BioShock for iOS will launch later this winter. 

BioShock for iOS is compatible with the iPad Air, iPad Mini with Retina Display, iPad 4, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5. It will not run on older devices.
