Asus is indeed stepping up its game when it comes to its efforts for the production of mobile devices. Aside from the ZenFone line it introduced back in CES, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer recently released the PadFone E to complete its PadFone range.

The Asus PadFone E is designed to sit in between the company’s high-end smartphone hybrid, the PadFone Infinity and the lower-end PadFone Mini. The smartphone packs a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also packs a Snapdragon 400 chip with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage.

There’s also a 13MP LED-enabled rear camera and an 1820mAh battery.

Just like the rest Asus’s PadFone smartphones, the PadFone E comes with a dock that converts the smartphone into a 10.1-inch tablet. The dock’s display has 720p resolution and packs a 1MP front-facing camera as well as its own battery rated at 5000mAh.

There’s no word on availability yet but the Asus PadFone E is expected to launch first in Taiwan for around AU$640.
