Asus has now joined the club of 7-inch and 8-inch Windows tablet with its VivoTab Note 8, which was showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The VivoTab comes with a quad-core Intel Atom Z3740 CPU, 2GB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal memory with option for expansion via a microSD card, a 5MP rear camera, and a Wacom digitiser that is able to sense up to 1000 points of pressure from the included stylus.

The included stylus and digitiser puts the tablet in the direct firing line of Samsung’s stylus-packing Note series. So Asus added a few a copy of Microsoft Office Home and Student as a bonus to make the VivoTab more appealing to consumers.

The Asus VivoTab is expected to arrive in stores by late Q1 or early Q2 for US$299 for the 32GB version and $349 for the 64GB model.
