Car makers are now slowly incorporating a lot of technology into their cars from computers that help prevent collisions, sensors that park the car automatically and navigation systems that are always connected to the internet.

And according to a report by the Financial Times, Apple is looking to get its mobile operating system into cars by collaborating with a number of carmakers, including Mercedes Benz, Ferrari and Volvo.

The said car makers as well as other brands will reportedly roll out vehicles with iOS before the end of 2014. The in-car operating system should allow iPhone and iPad users to mirror iOS apps on the dashboard, use Siri voice commands, make iPhone calls through the car’s system and also receive notifications.

The OS is expected to be unveiled next week at the annual Geneva Motorshow.
