Apple releases iOS 8.11 to speed up iPhone 4s and iPad 2
Apple today rolled out iOS 8.11, a software update for its mobile operating system designed to address performance issues on the iPhone 4s and iPad 2. After updating to iOS 8, many users found their older devices ran slower as a result of the new software. According to Apple's release notes, iOS 8.11 also includes bug fixes and increased stability for the two devices.
The original iPad mini has not officially received a performance increase as part of the upgrade, despite sharing similar internals to the iPad 2. As such, updating the iPad mini results in a similar slowdown.
iOS 8.11 is available for download now.
