Apple Music coming to Sonos on December 15

Connected speaker manufacturer Sonos today announced that it will add support for Apple Music to its wireless multi-room ecosystem from December 15. Apple Music's Sonos-integration will initially launch as a public beta, giving subscribers access to the majority of the service's features, including Beats 1, radio stations, and "for you". Sonos expects to ditch the "beta" tag by early 2016.

"We’re thrilled to be working with Sonos to provide the Apple Music experience in even more places fans enjoy music," said Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue.

Apple Music will join the long list of music streaming services supported by the Sonos controller app, including Spotify, Tidal, Bandcamp, Google Play Music and Deezer. As with the vast majority of multi-room setups, Sonos requires users to choose songs within its own applications, rather than within the streaming app of choice.

The Sonos controller app is available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac.
