Alcatel Idol 3 “affordable flagship” comes to Australia via Dodo

Almost nine months after it was first announced, Alcatel has brought its Idol 3 "affordable flagship" to Australia, exclusively through Dodo. Outright, Dodo is pricing the 5.5-inch handset at AUD$379 (plus shipping), while 24-month plans start at AUD$27.90 per month, including repayments.

An AUD$27.90 per month 4G plan nets customers AUD$500 of talk and text, and 1GB of data. The AUD$39.90 per month tier bumps inclusions to unlimited talk and text, with 4GB of data. Excess data usage is billed at AUD$15 per gigabyte.

In terms of hardware, the Idol 3 boasts a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 13MP rear-facing camera. It ships with the somewhat dated Android 5.0.2.

At time of writing, Dodo is only offering the 5.5-inch Idol 3.
