23 new Panasonic TVs launching in Australia this year, not a single curve in sight
Panasonic today unveiled 23 new television models due for release in Australia in 2015. Grouped under the Viera moniker, many of Panasonic's 2015 TVs boast quad-core processors and a revamped user-interface powered by Mozilla's Firefox OS as key new features.
As with LG and Samsung's 2015 televisions, Panasonic’s focus for the year is colour. All of its 4K displays make use of "Wide Colour Phosphor", a technology that enables its televisions to display up to 98% of the Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) colour space, allowing for better colour reproduction.
Over 60% of Panasonic's new Australia-bound models boast 4K panels, and not a single unit features a curved screen. Panasonic claims its displays are 35% brighter than last year's models, but now consume 40% less power.
